Performs basic (but progressively more difficult) assignments as a Financial Specialist under the close direction of the manager or more experienced professional in the FAA Accounts Payable Section A (AMK-311) within the Administrative Payments Branch (AMK-310).

Applies basic knowledge in the creation of financial system queries and reports. In conjunction with co-workers, analyzes and briefs on performance indicators for multiple customers. Identifies and coordinates corrective actions to resolve complex mission-related problems. Assists in the planning and preparation of system implementation efforts and provides written responses to advanced-level requests for information. Drafts operation instructions for changes to current processes or to implement new processes within the organization. Acts as a liaison between the organization and customer management.
Established policies/procedures provide detailed guidance for almost all assignments, with little or no room for discretion. Words under detailed instructions provided by the manager, or more experienced professional. Regularly refers problems and work issues to a manager, project/program manager, or more experienced professional for guidance. Work is reviewed regularly during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and all aspects of quality.
Personal contacts are both internal and external to include AMK management, staff members, DOT and FAA personnel, customer's staff and management. Required daily contact with customers both internally and externally to exchange information and explain the application of policies and procedures.
Occasional travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties.

To qualify for this position at the FV-F (FG/GS 5-9) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 3 years of progressively responsible general work experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least FG/GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to:(1) analyze problems to identify significant factors; gather pertinent data; recognize solutions; (2) plan and organize work and (3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, gained from an accredited college or university.
Combination education and experience may be qualifying for this position.
