Plans, organizes, administers, and controls the following student programs and activities necessary to effectively operate and meet the objectives of a Job Corps training center: career development and social development components. Acts as Center Director when necessary




  1. Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles

  2. Responsible for the overall administration of the following components: career development to include academic and vocational training and social development

  3. Serves as Center Director as necessary

  4. Responsible for meeting established goals and objectives

  5. Builds a continuing relationship with community leaders and social, civic and service organizations.

  6. KeepsCenter Director abreast of all matters sufficient to warrant attention. Develops and maintains channels of communication with staff to provide a free flow of information to the Center Director

  7. Conducts regular staff meetings and in-service training sessions

  8. Plans and prepares budgets to provide for current and projected activities

  9. Provides necessary reports for the Department of Labor and corporate headquarters

  10. Ensures that departmental reviews are conducted regularly

  11. Responsible for ensuring that departmental equal employment and affirmative action goals and objectives are met

  12. Responsible for the safe operation of assigned center functions and also the safety of the students

  13. Prepares and conducts performance evaluations

  14. Other duties as assigned.



Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree. Three years’ experience in program management and direction in Job Corps or similar training program. Must have experience working with youth.

Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with the program’s targeted population.

Knowledge Required:Knowledge of educational programs, including academic and vocational training, contract administration, fiscal analysis. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Physical and mental toughness to withstand long hours required. Ability to establish rapport and relate effectively with students and to direct and inspire staff.
